Meet MazdasNW Member – Azntaiji

I love my Mazda because it’s unique and you don’t really see many other ones like mine around. It’s a sort of newer car, so you don’t really see many modded Mazdas around as you do Honda’s and VW’s. Coming from the VW world, I really like how our cars have a tiny bit of european look to them also. The low maintenance aspect of my Mazda is also a huge plus, it’s been really reliable for the time I’ve had it. I also love it because it’s alot quicker than my last car, when I give it some gas it actually goes zoom zoom!

I hang out with the MazdasNW crew because they’re just awesome, plain and simple! Everyone is really friendly, helpful, and laid back. I love going to the meets when I can, it’s cool to see all the nice cars, (gives me inspiration to dump more money into my car haha) and cool to see all of the people in person, and meet new ones. The food is also great! I found out about MazdasNW after Daniel referred me to it from M3F.

I’ve done some subtle mods to my car so far. Under the hood, I’ve got a MazdaSpeed3 catback exhaust system, Throttle Body ground and coolant bypass, and advanced engine timing. I plan on getting the new Corksport Short Ram Intake when it comes out soon. I’ve replaced all of the interior stock lighting with white LED’s. Wheel and suspension wise, I’ve got Progress Sport Springs (thanks Paul, a fellow MNW’er) and the stock 17″ five spokes painted graphite. On the exterior, I have 30% tint, red brake calipers, it’s debadged, blacked out emblems, LED lisence plate light, DDM 35w 5000K h.i.d. lows, and Nokya Hyper Yellow 3000K fogs and highs. My next mod is to hopefully get a nice wide and agressive wheel setup.

When I’m not working on my car, I’m usually working at the coffee shop or going to my firefighting classes. I love to play video games with my friends, go out to movies, or do the occasional midnight Safeway run! I’m the oldest of 4, and my family has 2 horses, 6 chickens and 4 dogs. Sort of a mini-farm!

Let’s see, a funny thing I always get from the MNW’ers is that I still have my side mouldings on my car, and that Drew or someone is going to take them off at the next meet, ninja style.

I think people should join MazdasNW because it’s the most helpful and friendly car group I’ve ever met. It seems that everyone gets to know each other here. We’ve done of fun activities, anywhere from Bowling, to Jasmine Grille, to photoshoots! Oh, and I probably shouldn’t leave out that the MNW cars, Mazda or not, are hott! As a MazdaNW’er, I love to card people I see in town to try to get them to join.

I’ve had several favorite memories with my car. I think that every time I upgrade something to it, it’s a great memory! I’d say my latest favorite memory of my Mazda was after seeing it lowered!

I think my Mazda is pretty unique because it’s Velocity Red (a color only made until 2006). I haven’t seen any other 2006 Velo-Red hatches in our area before. It’s also unique because you don’t see too many Mazda’s modded, especially around where I live! I also love to put stickers on my back window! (That’s right, +5 HP each) People can really tell that it’s me because of that.

I’d like to thank everyone I’ve met here on MazdasNW for making it a very worthwile experience, and I plan on being a part of the group for quite awhile, even if I end up switching cars in the future!

Meet MazdasNW member CeeeJay!

There are many reasons why I love my car. First of all it is fast. It is the fastest car I’ve ever owned and it is the first turbo I’ve owned. Every time I tinker with the car I’m learning new things about boost. Another reason I love it is that its somewhat unique. When I went to the NW Motoring meet at Sand Point in Spring of 2009, I was the only Mazda there other than the RX7. The event had tons of Civics, WRXs, Integras, and EVOs. I also love that my car is an attention whore. The combination of the wheels, the stance, and the aero improvements have all given the car a distinct look and I think that’s what attracts people to it. I often see people on the freeway and on the streets checking out my vehicle and even doing 360 walk around in the parking lot.

The people in MazdasNW group are really cool and really helpful when you need help tinkering with your car. Sometimes they are as eager as you are when you buy stuff and want to install them. Often when you ask for help, you get around 6 people coming to the install and lending a hand.

I met these guys before mazdasnw.com was created in the northwest section of mazda3forums.com. My first meet was the 1st ever crossroads meet where I remember meeting Drew, Noah, and Daniel.

The best part about MazdasNW is the camaraderie and enthusiasm and love every member has for their car.

ceejay_mazdasnw_2

My car has all kinds of neat upgrades! Autoexe front bumper, Nextmod rear spoiler extension, 17×9 enkei rpf1 wheels, kw variant 2 coilovers, cobb front and rear sways, cpe motor mount, cpe intake, rpmc turbo inlet, forge bpv, optima yellow top battery, devils own meth injection, hypertech engine tuner, DC sports exhaust, custom trunk amp rack and sub enclosure, 12" boston acoustics g5 sub, 12" boston acoustics passive radiator, DLS 6.5" component speakers, Alpine PDX1.1000 sub amp, Alpine PDX4.100 4 channel amp, image dynamics 5×7 coaxial speakers… I think thats it.

When I am not working on my car or hanging out with the group I like to play video games, going camping, fishing, and traveling. I’m the youngest of 3 boys. I have a dog and 1 cat that lives with me but also have 2 other cats that stay with my parents

After every install I’ve had help with the group, there has always been something dangerously untightened. first install was my Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs. when i went on a test run the lugs on one of the wheels were really loose. Second install was my KW v2 Coilovers, the top bolts at the strut towers were not tightened either causing loud clunking. after that, i make it a priority to tighten and torque all the bolts myself.

ceejay_mazdasnw_4

Personally I think other people should join MazdasNW because this is a great bunch of people who are very helpful and informative about the cars we drive. There are no other car groups in the nw that I’ve been apart of that compares to the quantity and quality of people we have here.

CeeeJay is also a MazdasNW senior member, which means he is a great person to get to know, learn from and stay connected to the group. Hope you enjoyed another MazdasNW member spotlight!

1.16 Adopt A Highway

adopt_highway

MazdasNW has officially adopted a highway. As a car club we especially appreciate safe, clean and fun roads. Sign up to volunteer!

Information from WSDOT

Why Adopt?

Washington is the Evergreen State- and we want to keep it that way. The condition of Washington State roads is a reflection on us, the people who live here. Adopting a highway shows pride in the state and it’s a great way to show that you and your organization care.

Litter is not only unattractive; it can be a traffic hazard if it blows into the view of drivers on the highway. Litter is also harmful to the environment. Did you know it takes over one million years for plastic and Styrofoam containers to decompose?

- Participating volunteer groups agree to clean up the “adopted” highway section four times each year. WSDOT supplies litter bags and safety materials for volunteer groups.

1.13 MazdasNW Monthly Meet

northgate

Start your engine and mark your calendar for MazdasNW’s first meet of 2010! Wednesday January 13th, meet the whole group at Northgate Mall. Show up around 7PM to find a good parking spot, head in to dinner, catch up, and share your 2010 resolutions. RSVP and learn more…

Mazda Drivers’ 2010 Resolutions

1. Keep Up With Regularly Scheduled Maintenance
Okay a little clutter, understandable. Life gets messy. Host a maintenance party; oil changes and washing and waxing is more fun in a group. Add pizza delivery and you are good to go. Plus a clean car feels good and sometimes even feels a little faster.

2. Take a Driving Skills Class
Watch the forums! All throughout the year there are excellent track day events! You can learn in your own car how to safely maneuver your vehicle on wet pavement and tight braking scenarios, while also learning proper seat position, where to focus, and lots of other tips that can make you safer on the road. Check out the Alfa Romeo driving school details.

3. Get More Involved With MazdasNW
Whether you have been around a week or years you know that MazdasNW is growing. Is keeping up a little overwhelming? Check the New Posts link on the top of the forum and read what people are talking about. Consider hosting an event, from a car wash day to an XBOX/LAN party. Maybe you know just the destination that can accommodate a big group and has great food. Organize a drive! How about a local volunteer project? What ever your interest, MazdasNW is right here with you.

A Member Poem

member_peom
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the forums
Not a member was stirring, not even for a quorum.
Their Mazdas were parked in their garages with care,
In hopes that technicians from Corksport and Surgeline would soon be there.

The newbies were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of turbos… danced in their heads.

And Rachel in her ‘kerchief, and Drew in his cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap.
sleeping-cap-buddy-icon-animated

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
He sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away with his .40 he flew like a flash,
Tore open the door ready to give a thrash.

The clouds that were emitting a new-fallen rain
Which always gave Northwest drivers SUCH a pain.
When, what to his wondering eyes should appear,
But two extremely quick Speed6s, filled with a lot of beer
speed6

With fairly jolly drivers, so lively and loud,
He knew in a moment it must be Jon and Hao!
More rapid than eagles their passengers they came,
And they whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

“Now Marty! now, Noah! now, Katie and Nathan!
On, Daniel! On, Scott! On Zach and Jason!
To the end of the street! But not at a crawl!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”
mazda_poem_crew
As racers approaching a sharp turn often do,
When they approached the house they downshifted right on queue.
So into the driveway, the drivers they drove,
With their cars full of beer, liquor, and suove. (wine)

And then, in a twinkling, Drew heard in his garage
His car revving and growling, it surely was a mirage!
As he drew up his .40, and was turning around,
Through the door Jon came with a bound.

He was dressed in a fire suit, from his head to his foot
,And his clothes were all tarnished with grease and soot.
A bundle of car parts he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, probably from the sherry!
His hands were blackened with grease from his jet,
And the hair on his head, though messy, was perfect

The stump of a cigar he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He wore a tool belt which he used often,
That bounced against his hip, the sound of which he did nothing to soften

He was thin and tall, a right handsome young elf,
And Drew laughed when he saw him, in spite of himself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon let Drew know he had nothing to dread.

Jon spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled the Protégé with mods, then turned with a jerk.
And brushing his shoulders then downing his last beer can,
And snapping a salute, out the door he ran!

He jumped in his car, to his passengers gave a whistle,
And away they all drove like the down of a thistle.
But Drew heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,”
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”
